Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work A Semper Augustus tulip, a carnation and roses, with shells and insects, on a ledge by Balthasar van der Ast. The price achieved of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 154,167.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Balthasar van der Ast achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,497,250.00 (€ 1,846,525.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Semper Augustus tulip, a carnation and roses, with shells and insects, on a ledge von Balthasar van der Ast zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 154.167,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Balthasar van der Ast erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.497.250,00 (€ 1.846.525,06).
