Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work A Market Scene With Fruit And Vegetable Sellers In Front Of A Walled Town by Balthazar Nebot for USD 5,625.00 (€ 5,042.58). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Balthazar Nebot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Covent Garden Market in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 66,000.00 (€ 97,436.72).
