This artwork by Baldassare Franceschini achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2017. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work A sheet of studies: the Coronation of the Virgin, Judith with the Head of Holofernes, and God the Father, with two further studies of God the Father for the Coronation attached to the upper right border sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 16,212.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Baldassare Franceschini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of the Marchese Altoviti as Hylas in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 751,500.00 (€ 689,765.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Baldassare Franceschini erzielte im Januar 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit A sheet of studies: the Coronation of the Virgin, Judith with the Head of Holofernes, and God the Father, with two further studies of God the Father for the Coronation attached to the upper right border für USD 17.500,00 (€ 16.212,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Baldassare Franceschini erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of the Marchese Altoviti as Hylas im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 751.500,00 (€ 689.765,95).
