This artwork by Bai Xueshi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Lijiang After The Rain sold for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 100,143.51) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 480,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bai Xueshi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape of Li River in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 4,485,000.00 (€ 425,603.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 82 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bai Xueshi erzielte im Mai 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Lijiang After The Rain für HKD 875.000,00 (€ 100.143,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 480.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bai Xueshi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape of Li River im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.485.000,00 (€ 425.603,21).
