This artwork by Bai Xueshi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Autumn Scenery Of Shidu sold for HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 120,943.44) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bai Xueshi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape of Li River, which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 4,485,000.00 (€ 425,603.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bai Xueshi erzielte im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Autumn Scenery Of Shidu für HKD 1.062.500,00 (€ 120.943,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Bai Xueshi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape of Li River beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 4.485.000,00 (€ 425.603,21) versteigert wurde.
