Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script by Bai Jiao was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,486.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bai Jiao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poem In Xingshu, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 525,000.00 (€ 60,674.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script von Bai Jiao kam im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 19.486,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Bai Jiao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poem In Xingshu beobachtet, die im April 2015 für HKD 525.000,00 (€ 60.674,61) versteigert wurde.
