In October 2011 Christies in Dubai held the auction Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish ArtPart II, which included the work Untitled (From the Memories of Destruction series) by Aydin Aghdashloo. The »bidding war« ended at USD 68,500.00 (€ 49,114.50), 52% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Aydin Aghdashloo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Memories of Destruction: The Years of Fire and Snow, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 145,000.00 (€ 100,221.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 52 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2011 führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish ArtPart II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (From the Memories of Destruction series) von Aydin Aghdashloo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 68.500,00 (€ 49.114,50) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Aydin Aghdashloo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Memories of Destruction: The Years of Fire and Snow beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 145.000,00 (€ 100.221,18) versteigert wurde.
