Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Lady in black by Axel Törneman was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 25,000.00 (€ 2,489.78). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Axel Törneman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Ungdom" (Youth) in October 2012 with an auction result of SEK 600,000.00 (€ 69,779.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Lady in black von Axel Törneman im Dezember 2020 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 25.000,00 (€ 2.489,78) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Axel Törneman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Ungdom" (Youth) im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 600.000,00 (€ 69.779,29).
