Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Autoportrait with pipe by Axel Törneman was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in December 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 100,000.00 – 125,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 80,000.00 (€ 8,715.35). Admittedly, works by Axel Törneman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "Ungdom" (Youth) in October 2012 with an auction result of SEK 600,000.00 (€ 69,779.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Autoportrait with pipe von Axel Törneman im Dezember 2015 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 100.000,00 – 125.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 80.000,00 (€ 8.715,35) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Axel Törneman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit "Ungdom" (Youth) im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 600.000,00 (€ 69.779,29).
