Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Development And Periods Of Spare by Austin Osman Spare was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in March this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,562.50 (€ 10,879.19), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Austin Osman Spare have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nude, Charlotte Newman in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 59,410.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Development And Periods Of Spare von Austin Osman Spare wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.562,50 (€ 10.879,19) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Austin Osman Spare auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nude, Charlotte Newman im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 59.410,40).
