The work Haunted Avenue by Austin Osman Spare was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year. It achieved a price of GBP 7,012.50 (€ 7,978.07), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. Admittedly, works by Austin Osman Spare have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nude, Charlotte Newman in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 59,410.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Haunted Avenue von Austin Osman Spare kam im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 7.012,50 (€ 7.978,07) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Austin Osman Spare auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nude, Charlotte Newman im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 59.410,40).
