The work Three Satyrs by Austin Osman Spare was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,240.06), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Austin Osman Spare achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude, Charlotte Newman in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 59,410.40).

Die Arbeit Three Satyrs von Austin Osman Spare wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.240,06) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Austin Osman Spare erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude, Charlotte Newman im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 59.410,40).
