Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mass Hysteria by Austin Lee was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in June 2021. The price achieved of HKD 252,000.00 (€ 27,373.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 200,000.00 – 400,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Austin Lee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Drowning, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 75,600.00 (€ 66,979.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mass Hysteria von Austin Lee kam im Juni 2021 bei Phillips in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 252.000,00 (€ 27.373,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 200.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Austin Lee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Drowning beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 75.600,00 (€ 66.979,71) versteigert wurde.
