Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Congeries 164 by Austin Cooper was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 125.00 (€ 95.76). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Austin Cooper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paris For The Weekend in November 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,848.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Congeries 164 von Austin Cooper im Januar 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 125,00 (€ 95,76) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Austin Cooper erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paris For The Weekend im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.848,70).
