Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work To St. Albans And To Dorking By Bus by Austin Cooper was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 750.00 (€ 932.49). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Austin Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Paris For The Weekend, which sold at auction in November 2015 for GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,848.70).
