In May 2013 Christies in London held the auction Vintage Posters, which included the work From 4.30 To 1, Travel Underground by Austin Cooper. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,338.31), 67% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Austin Cooper; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Paris For The Weekend sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,848.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Vintage Posters durch, in der auch die Arbeit From 4.30 To 1, Travel Underground von Austin Cooper zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.338,31) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Austin Cooper; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Paris For The Weekend im November 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.848,70).
