Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two Studies Of Heads: One Frontal The Other In Profile by Aurelio Luini was sold in the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in London in July 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,643.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aurelio Luini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A hermit contemplating a crucifix, with studies of putti and a head in profile in July 2004 with an auction result of GBP 83,650.00 (€ 126,413.56).
