The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,224.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aurelio Luini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A hermit contemplating a crucifix, with studies of putti and a head in profile in July 2004 with an auction result of GBP 83,650.00 (€ 126,413.56).
