In March 2006 Christies in Paris held the auction Dessins Anciens et du 19è Siècle, which included the work Etudes de Huit Figures Pour Saint Michel Et Le Démon by Aurelio Luini. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 10,560.00 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aurelio Luini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A hermit contemplating a crucifix, with studies of putti and a head in profile in July 2004 with an auction result of GBP 83,650.00 (€ 126,413.56).
