Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Auguste Coomans could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Pictures Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work Sheep Resting In A Meadow changed hands for EUR 840.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Auguste Coomans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sheep in a barn; Sheep in a meadow in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 12,872.20 (€ 6,178.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Auguste Coomans konnte im Juni 2005 bei Christies in Amsterdam für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings wechselte die Arbeit Sheep Resting In A Meadow für EUR 840,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Auguste Coomans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sheep in a barn; Sheep in a meadow im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 12.872,20 (€ 6.178,23).
