A top price for Auguste Coomans - as previously expected
The work Sheep in a barn; Sheep in a meadow by Auguste Coomans was sold in the BELGIAN ART 1850-1950 auction at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of NLG 12,000.00 – 16,000.00, the actual price achieved of NLG 12,872.20 (€ 6,178.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Sheep in a barn; Sheep in a meadow is the most expensive artwork by Auguste Coomans that we have observed at auctions so far.
