This artwork by August Willem van Voorden achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2001. In the PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX auction, the work Labourers unloading cargo on a quay, Rotterdam sold for EUR 7,050.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by August Willem van Voorden - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals, which sold at auction in May 2010 for EUR 27,400.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von August Willem van Voorden erzielte im September 2001 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX wurde die Arbeit Labourers unloading cargo on a quay, Rotterdam für EUR 7.050,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von August Willem van Voorden mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für EUR 27.400,00 versteigert wurde.
