Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ashley Bickerton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2017. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Wall Wall #7 sold for EUR 77,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ashley Bickerton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seascape: Floating Costume to Drift for Eternity II, which sold at auction in November 2013 for USD 221,000.00 (€ 162,428.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ashley Bickerton erzielte im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Wall Wall #7 für EUR 77.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ashley Bickerton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seascape: Floating Costume to Drift for Eternity II beobachtet, die im November 2013 für USD 221.000,00 (€ 162.428,34) versteigert wurde.
