Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Between The Earth And Astral by Arup Das was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,652.65). Other works by Arup Das have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2019 by the work Untitled (Village) at USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,699.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Between The Earth And Astral von Arup Das im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.652,65) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Arup Das wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im März 2019 die Arbeit Untitled (Village) mit USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.699,32).
