Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The challenge by Arthur Wardle was sold in the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction at Bonhams in London in September last year. The price achieved of GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,157.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Wardle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Fairy Tale "All seemed to sleep, the timid hare on form" - Scott. in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 337,875.00 (€ 386,081.08).

Die Arbeit The challenge von Arthur Wardle wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.925,00 (€ 10.157,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Wardle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Fairy Tale "All seemed to sleep, the timid hare on form" - Scott. im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.875,00 (€ 386.081,08).
