Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction European & British Art, which included the work Gone to Ground by Arthur Wardle. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 15,029.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Wardle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Fairy Tale "All seemed to sleep, the timid hare on form" - Scott. in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 337,875.00 (€ 386,081.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European & British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gone to Ground von Arthur Wardle zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 15.029,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Wardle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Fairy Tale "All seemed to sleep, the timid hare on form" - Scott. im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.875,00 (€ 386.081,08).
