Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February this year Christies in London held the auction An Opulent Aesthetic: An Important Private Collection from an English Country House, which included the work Two labradors in a field by Arthur Wardle. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,860.00 (€ 15,809.19), 16% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Wardle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Fairy Tale "All seemed to sleep, the timid hare on form" - Scott. in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 337,875.00 (€ 386,081.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion An Opulent Aesthetic: An Important Private Collection from an English Country House durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two labradors in a field von Arthur Wardle zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.860,00 (€ 15.809,19) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Wardle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Fairy Tale "All seemed to sleep, the timid hare on form" - Scott. im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.875,00 (€ 386.081,08).
