Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Australian Mother And Child by Arthur Murch for AUD 3,600.00 (€ 2,195.20). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art at Sothebys in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Arthur Murch have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2009 by the work Australian Crouching Female Figure at AUD 6,300.00 (€ 3,841.60).
