This artwork by Albert Moulton Foweraker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2001. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work A figure with a lantern in a village by moonlight sold for GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,602.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Albert Moulton Foweraker; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Moonlight in a Spanish landscape (illustrated); On the steps at Tarn, France; and Moonlight, Newton St. Cyres, Devon sold at auction in September 2005 with the realized price of GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,226.61).
