In November 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Outside The Bullring by Arthur Melville. The result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 56,974.06) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Melville have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work After The Play in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 174,500.00 (€ 237,115.90).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Outside The Bullring von Arthur Melville zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 56.974,06) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Melville auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit After The Play im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 174.500,00 (€ 237.115,90).
