Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work A Cairo Coffee Stall by Arthur Melville. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,209.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Melville have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work After The Play in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 174,500.00 (€ 237,115.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Cairo Coffee Stall von Arthur Melville zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.209,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Melville auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit After The Play im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 174.500,00 (€ 237.115,90).
