Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work A Young Boy Reading by Arthur Melville. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,229.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Melville achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work After The Play in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 174,500.00 (€ 237,115.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Young Boy Reading von Arthur Melville zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.229,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Melville erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit After The Play im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 174.500,00 (€ 237.115,90).
