Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Garnet Sails by Arthur Melville was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2018. The price achieved of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,298.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Melville have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work After The Play in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 174,500.00 (€ 237,115.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Garnet Sails von Arthur Melville kam im November 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.298,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Melville auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit After The Play im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 174.500,00 (€ 237.115,90).
