Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art including The Studio of Humphrey Jennings, which included the work St.Ives Harbour by Arthur Hayward. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,148.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Arthur Hayward have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2007 the work The Harbour At Polperro was auctioned for GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,693.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art including The Studio of Humphrey Jennings durch, in der auch die Arbeit St.Ives Harbour von Arthur Hayward zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.148,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Arthur Hayward konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli 2007 die Arbeit The Harbour At Polperro für GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.693,66) versteigert.
