It achieved a price of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,554.16), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Arthur Hayward have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Harbour At Polperro in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,693.66).

Die Arbeit Portrait of A Lady von Arthur Hayward kam im Oktober 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.554,16) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Hayward auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Harbour At Polperro im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.693,66).
