Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Night, Old St. Ives by Arthur Hayward was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,897.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Hayward - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Harbour At Polperro, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,693.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Night, Old St. Ives von Arthur Hayward kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.897,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Hayward mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Harbour At Polperro beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.693,66) versteigert wurde.
