Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Sea II by Arthur Dove for USD 125,000.00 (€ 110,394.77). This price was achieved in the auction An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Day Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Dove achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,802,500.00 (€ 6,912,820.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sea II von Arthur Dove für USD 125.000,00 (€ 110.394,77) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Day Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Dove erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.802.500,00 (€ 6.912.820,06).
