Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Sacrifice by Arthur Bowen Davies. The price achieved of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,527.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Bowen Davies have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Heart's Hansel in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 67,000.00 (€ 45,615.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sacrifice von Arthur Bowen Davies zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.527,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Bowen Davies auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Heart's Hansel im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 67.000,00 (€ 45.615,47).
