Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Tree of Desire (Kalpavriksha) by Arpana Caur was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2018. Here, the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,604.37). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arpana Caur - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Resilient Green, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 49,000.00 (€ 31,002.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Tree of Desire (Kalpavriksha) von Arpana Caur wurde im September 2018 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.604,37) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Arpana Caur mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Resilient Green beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 49.000,00 (€ 31.002,85) versteigert wurde.
