Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Prakriti (Nature) As Creator & Destroyer by Arpana Caur. The price achieved of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,112.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arpana Caur - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Resilient Green, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 49,000.00 (€ 31,002.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Prakriti (Nature) As Creator & Destroyer von Arpana Caur zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.112,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Arpana Caur mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Resilient Green beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 49.000,00 (€ 31.002,85) versteigert wurde.
