This artwork by Arpana Caur achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2006. In the Indian & Southeast Asian Art auction, the work City Of Desires And Kalpavriksha sold for USD 16,800.00 (€ 13,839.69) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arpana Caur - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Resilient Green, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 49,000.00 (€ 31,002.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Arpana Caur erzielte im März 2006 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Indian & Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit City Of Desires And Kalpavriksha für USD 16.800,00 (€ 13.839,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Arpana Caur mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Resilient Green beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 49.000,00 (€ 31.002,85) versteigert wurde.
