Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Muerte del yo (The Death of the Ego) by Armando Mariño was auctioned at Phillips in New York in February 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,582.84). Admittedly, works by Armando Mariño have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work El restaurador in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,850.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Muerte del yo (The Death of the Ego) von Armando Mariño im Februar 2018 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.582,84) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Armando Mariño auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit El restaurador im August 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.850,54).
