This artwork by Arkady Plastov achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2007. In the Russian Icons and Pictures Including works by Non-Conformist Artists auction, the work Portrait of Nikolai Volkov sold for GBP 34,100.00 (€ 47,748.82) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Arkady Plastov; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait of Stepan Nazarov sold at auction in November 2007 with the realized price of GBP 36,500.00 (€ 51,109.44).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Arkady Plastov erzielte im November 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Russian Icons and Pictures Including works by Non-Conformist Artists wurde die Arbeit Portrait of Nikolai Volkov für GBP 34.100,00 (€ 47.748,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00.
