This artwork by Arbit Blatas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2003. In the Impressionist and Modern Art auction, the work Vase en fleurs sold for USD 11,352.50 (€ 10,532.05) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Arbit Blatas; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The artist's studio sold at auction in July this year with the realized price of USD 12,800.00 (€ 11,615.25).
