Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Shusaku Arakawa was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in February 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 43,462.59) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shusaku Arakawa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vertical Thought, which sold at auction in October 2017 for GBP 137,500.00 (€ 156,776.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Shusaku Arakawa wurde im Februar 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 43.462,59) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shusaku Arakawa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vertical Thought beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für GBP 137.500,00 (€ 156.776,91) versteigert wurde.
