Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Tablet for Contemplation) by Anwar Jalal Shemza was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in June 2018. The price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,008.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anwar Jalal Shemza achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work City Wall in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 231,250.00 (€ 199,749.50).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Tablet for Contemplation) von Anwar Jalal Shemza wurde im Juni 2018 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.008,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anwar Jalal Shemza erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit City Wall im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 231.250,00 (€ 199.749,50).
