Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints including Property from the Estate of Ernst Beyeler, which included the work Hunting Scenes VI (Bartsch 1140-1147, 1147 a, 1147 b) by Antonio Tempesta. The price achieved of GBP 562.50 (€ 653.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antonio Tempesta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Réconciliation De Jacob Et Esaü in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 85,800.00.
