Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Allegorical figures and angels holding garlands around a cartouche: Design for a frontispiece by Antonio Tempesta was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 886.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antonio Tempesta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Réconciliation De Jacob Et Esaü in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 85,800.00.

Die Arbeit Allegorical figures and angels holding garlands around a cartouche: Design for a frontispiece von Antonio Tempesta kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 886,41) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antonio Tempesta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Réconciliation De Jacob Et Esaü im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 85.800,00.
