Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The death of Niobe's children by Antonio Tempesta was sold in the Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,100.00 (€ 41,095.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Tempesta - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Réconciliation De Jacob Et Esaü, which sold at auction in November 2019 for EUR 85,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The death of Niobe's children von Antonio Tempesta wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Master Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 41.095,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Antonio Tempesta mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Réconciliation De Jacob Et Esaü beobachtet, die im November 2019 für EUR 85.800,00 versteigert wurde.
