Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2013 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolors Including an Important Canadian Collection and a Distinguished Private Collection, which included the work A Scene From The Antique: A Priest Presenting A Sword To A Youth Beneath A Statue Of Hercules by Antonio Zucchi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,196.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antonio Zucchi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of James Adam (1732-1794), three-quarter-length, in an embroidered waistcoat and fur-lined blue coat, holding a pair of compasses, and a scroll, leaning on a capital, in an interior in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 374,500.00 (€ 472,362.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolors Including an Important Canadian Collection and a Distinguished Private Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Scene From The Antique: A Priest Presenting A Sword To A Youth Beneath A Statue Of Hercules von Antonio Zucchi zur Versteigerung kam. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of James Adam (1732-1794), three-quarter-length, in an embroidered waistcoat and fur-lined blue coat, holding a pair of compasses, and a scroll, leaning on a capital, in an interior im Ju
